Spreading music and happiness where it's needed most
DJs Do Good

Our mission
At DJs Do Good, we bring music to people who often don't get to experience it — elderly residents in nursing homes, children with special needs, people recovering in hospitals, youth at risk, and disadvantaged populations across Israel.
Our volunteer DJs turn day centers, schools, shelters, and rehabilitation facilities into places of celebration. We’ve seen elderly residents light up with a favorite song, children in wheelchairs clap to the rhythm, and caregivers dance alongside the people they care for. These moments remind us that joy and connection can reach anyone, anywhere.
While our DJs volunteer their time and talent, making it all happen takes transportation, equipment, training, and coordination. With your support, we can bring music to more places, more hearts, and more lives.

Our story
It started with one DJ and a simple wish.
For years, Nir dreamed of being a DJ. But like many of us, he took the practical path first: school, career, family. It wasn’t until he turned 50, that he finally did it. He bought the gear, took a course (with classmates half his age), and started playing wherever he could. Not clubs. Not weddings. But nursing homes, shelters, and children’s centers.
At first, it was just Nir, lugging his speakers into quiet rooms full of wheelchairs and soft stares. But then the music would start. He saw how music lit something up, even if just for a moment. And he knew he had to keep going.
That’s how DJs Do Good began. One person, one party, one powerful idea. Today, Nir’s journey has inspired a growing community of 145 volunteer DJs — people who believe, like he does, that joy is worth showing up for.

In Memory of Ido Baruch
On October 11, 2022, Sergeant Ido,
a soldier in the Givati Reconnaissance Unit, was killed in a terrorist shooting attack near Shavei Shomron. During the attack, terrorists fired from a passing vehicle at IDF soldiers carrying out an operational mission.
Ido was not only a dedicated soldier but also an outstanding DJ and a volunteer with a huge heart, who brought joy to thousands of people. It is remarkable how much good he managed to do in such a short life.
Eitan and Einav, Ido’s parents - close friends of Nir, the founder of DJs Do Good, since their military service together in the late 1980s - decided to donate Ido’s sound equipment to the organization, so that we can continue his path.
Ido’s motto, “Do good and you will receive good”, is now an inseparable part of our vision and will always accompany the work of the organization.
On July 1, 2025, just days after what would have been Ido’s birthday on June 25, the circle came full. Einav, Ido’s mother, who had just completed a DJ course, volunteered as a DJ for the organization at the graduation ceremony of Givati’s squad commanders course.
Today, Ido’s sound equipment is back in Einav’s hands, serving her in her volunteer work with DJs Do Good - carrying on Ido’s legacy of spreading joy through music.
More about Ido, as well as his playlist, can be found on his memorial website.
